About VACRAO

The Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is dedicated to the promotion of the professional preparation, effectiveness, and association of registrars, admission officers, and records administrators in colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education. VACRAO’s Goals

  • Emphasize the importance and benefits of learning for all in higher education.
  • Support VACRAO members and support staff with career and professional development through a forum of statewide workshops, newsletters, as well as an annual state meeting.
  • Provide exchanges of ideas and information by attending regional and national meetings, including SACRAO and AACRAO.
  • Encourage research in the field of education through articles and projects submitted through the newsletter or through the Jean Rayburn Research Scholarship.
  • Recognize leadership and contributions to VACRAO by members and others through the following: Honorary Memberships, Certificates of Appreciation, New Professionals Awards, and Distinguished Service Awards.
  • Cooperate with and attend annual meetings of other organizations (e.g., VASFAA, SCHEV, SACRAO, AACRAO, PCACAC, NACAC, VACBC) in order to reach association goals.
  • Conduct the Virginia Tour, a detailed recruiting schedule for Virginia.
